Joan Waters | Client Services Manager

After close to three decades in the financial services industry, Joan Waters has been exposed to just about every aspect of personal finance.

Joan, who originally aspired to work in a field where she could use her Spanish language skills, ended up taking a job with John Hancock after graduating from college. Early on, she obtained her life and health insurance licenses. The licensure allowed her to expand her knowledge within the industry, proving to be helpful to her role in client services over the years.

As Joan’s career progressed to other financial firms in the greater Boston area, she deepened her understanding of insurance, investments and financial planning. In recent years she has become a Notary to enhance the services she offers.

Joan joined Boston Retirement Advisors in 2004 when Paul was looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and service-oriented client services manager. In this role, Joan takes great pride in treating clients the way she would expect to be treated. An old mentor once told her that excellent client service meant following up, relentlessly – and that she does. “I love the client interaction,” Joan confesses about her job. “I like helping people, answering questions, and resolving issues,” she says.

When she’s not helping clients, Joan can be found at the gym! This personal fitness buff counts Zumba, step circuit and Caribbean Rhythm among her favorite exercise classes. Joan and her husband, Joe, love to travel and enjoy good wine. They reside in Salem, New Hampshire and have a son in college.
